HB 2904 - Relating to the administration of the Glenda Dawson Donate Life - Texas Registry, authored by Rep. Zerwas and Rep. Zaffirini, was signed by the Governor on June 17 and goes into effect September 1, 2011, except Sections 1 through 9 take effect January 1, 2012.

HB 3724 - Relating to the Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force, authored by Reps. Guillen, Zaffirini and Harris, was signed by the Governer on June 17 and takes effect September 1, 2011.

HB 2788 - Relating to the donation of blood by persons who are at least 16 years of age, authored by Rep. Laubenberg, was received by the House and left in a referral to Health & Human Services.

HB 2063 - Relating to a leave of absence for certain state employees who are donating adult stem cells, authored by Rep. Vo, was left pending in committee.

SB 187 - Relating to human body and anatomical specimen donation authored by Reps. Nelson, Patrick and Zerwas, was signed by the Governor on June 17 and takes effect September 1, 2011.

SB 622 - Relating to the privacy of protected health information; providing administrative and civil penalties, authored by Reps. Nelson, Kolkhorst, Naishtat, and Truitt, was left pending with the committee report sent to Calendars.

HB 3678 - Relating to implementation of certain cost-saving measures for the Medicaid vendor drug program and child health plan program prescription drug benefits, authored by Reps. Brown, Oliveira, Sid Miller, Orr and Reynolds, and failed to receive an affirmative vote in committee.

SB 1818 - Relating to consent for inclusion in the statewide Internet-based registry of organ, tissue and eye donors, authored by Rep. Zaffirini, was left pending in committee.

SB 133 - Relating to the regulation and certification of medical examiners and the conduct of autopsy and inquest investigations by justices of the peace and medical examiners; providing penalties, authored by Rep. Wentworth, was left being referred to Jurisprudence.
