Membership Information

Voting membership in TTS is limited to physicians and scientists who work in a solid organ or bone marrow/stem cell transplant program. However, associate and affiliate membership is open to nurses, coordinators, and others who support the goals of the society, and associate members are represented on the TTS Executive Committee and may serve on other committees. Annual dues are very affordable, and enable us to carry on educational activities throughout the year.

Institutional Membership

The Texas Transplantation Society is pleased to announce a new category of membership for transplant institutions, labs, and OPOs. We would like to invite your institution to join as an Institutional Member. As you may already know, TTS is a strong and active society with many opportunities for our members to help work towards our goal of promoting transplantation. The Institutional Membership was started in order to encourage your program's transplant administrator and/or legislative liaison to work with us to advance organ donation and transplant-friendly legislation. Per the bylaws adopted in 2009, The Institutional Membership "shall be limited to OPTN-approved transplant centers, Organ Procurement Organizations, and HLA Laboratories within UNOS Region 4. Such membership shall entitle the organization to appoint one person (either the transplant administrator, laboratory director, or executive director of an OPO, or other designee of the institution's choosing;) this individual will have full membership privileges in the category appropriate to their training, at no additional charge. Institutional membership shall be gained by the submission of a completed membership application, payment of appropriate fees, recommendation by the membership committee, and approval by majority vote of the general membership." We hope you will choose to participate at the Institutional level, in order to give our society an even stronger voice in the legislative and regulatory arena. Above please find our membership brochure and application. We hope you will review the enclosed information and give serious consideration to this invitation. Your institution is asked to designate who the individual member to represent you would be - we recommend either the transplant administrator or medical or surgical director; if your designated individual is already a member of Texas Transplantation Society, we are happy to give you a credit towards the institutional membership dues of $750/year. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please reach our office at (512)961-6532.
