Dean Henderson, MHA Dean Henderson is the Administrative Director of Solid Organ Transplantation at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. At Children's, he is responsible for the daily operations of the heart, kidney, liver and intestinal programs. Dean began his transplant career in 1992 as a technologist in the histocompatibility and stem cell processing laboratories. Dean's background in laboratory sciences has enabled him to develop quality programs and processes focused on efficiency, error prevention and enhanced patient safety measures. His professional interests lie in capturing and utilizing the full potential of expanding information technologies such as the implementation of electronic health records and expanding the use of mobile devices to create a safer and more consistent patient care experience. Dean has for-profit and non-profit management experience in both Solid Organ and Stem Cell transplant programs. Dean has a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration. Dean is the representative-elect on the Region 4 OPTN/UNOS Operations and Safety Committee and will serve the 2011-2013 term.
